Tommy hat sein Bassdrum-Frontfell dort nach eigenen Vorstellungen professionell gestalten lassen und die Reaktionen hierauf sind ausgesprochen erfreulich. Territoriale Rechte heisst, die links angeordneten Trommeln mit der linken Hand zu spielen und die rechts liegenden mit der rechten Hand. Es ist nicht natürlich, die Hihat mit der rechten und die Snare dazu mit der linken Hand zu spielen. Setzt Du ein vier Jahre altes Kind an ein Schlagzeug, tut es das auch nicht. Wie man auf der Abbildung (entnommen aus dem Buch) sehen kann, werden vielmehr die linken und rechten Hände ganz natürlich aufgeteilt.
Territorial refers to playing instruments on the left side with left hand, and playing the instruments on the right side with the right hand. It isn´t naturally, to play hihat and snare with sticks crossover. If you put a four-year-old child behind a set of drums, the child would not cross over to play the hihat. It´s simply and logical. As you can see from the photo, the small tom, hihat, cymbals, snare and large tom (on the left) are most naturally played by the left hand, while the rest (on the other side) are played by the right hand.
